I installed BitDefender 2008 a couple weeks ago and am relatively happy with the results. The install was really straight forward, and it has exactly the functionality I would expect from a antivirus solution.
I was very impressed with Bitdefender's ability to perform a deep scan and even found some viruses I was very surprised to see. However, my computer shuts off every time I get to one particular virus that I cant seem to get rid of. I know where it is since I have a dual boot I was able to boot up my secondary 64 bit XP install and use the free Bitdefender online scanner to find all the same problems as the full program found, the difference being my computer was able to finish the scan and generate a report about where the viruses in question are located.
As it stands, I am not sure what I need to do about this, since I really don't have time to read about how to remove each virus the free online scan found. I am not even sure if the program fixed the virus as all it says is "update failed". What does this mean? I am not exactly sure, when I find out I will post a reply here.

nothing but problems on both my pc(xp) and laptop(vista) the only tech support is to uninstall and reinstall and problems keep recurring have a year and a half left but it is worth more to me to find something else
